A Native American Medicine Pouch holds items believed to protect or give spiritual powers to its owner and is traditionally made of leather. Its contents will be of particular meaning to the owner.

In the Native American tradition, each bag would contain an item from the 4 ‘kingdoms’ plant animal, mineral and human. It would certainly contain something pertaining to the owner’s totem animal.

The Medicine Pouch is a sacred item and can worn around the neck, close to the heart. It can also be carried on a belt, in a pocket, briefcase or handbag, in your car, or even put under your pillow at night. It should never touch the ground and prayers or rituals would usually accompany the opening of the pouch

By keeping it close you are connecting with your spiritual self and helping yourself on your healing journey.

These Soaring Eagle medicine pouches are made from beautifully soft deerskin,

with a deerskin cord decorated with little glass beads.

The top is left natural and unfinished in traditional style.

The colour of the deerskin will vary with each pouch..

Measurements 5cm x 11cm.

Every Soaring Eagle product is originally designed by Mohawk artist Tonya Maracle, and is handcrafted on the Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory.  Her company’s products are meticulously handcrafted using all natural materials, such as genuine deerskin, cowhide, horsehair, pheasant feathers, deer antler, semi-precious stones, and high quality beads such as glass and ceramic.
