Navajo Rawhide Rattle Sunface Design (19cm)
Hand-crafted and hand-painted by Myrick Morgan who is shown on the tag.
Sunface is Zuni in origin but is found across the South Western tribes. It is an extremely positive symbol of prosperity, happiness, peace, hope, and joy. It represents stability, continuity and a connection to family and the Earth.
The rattle handle is wrapped with deer hide and decorated with glass beads and fur.
These rattles are very well made, with the head firmly attached to the handle. They have a good sound, an example of which can be heard on the video above.
Although each one will vary slightly the video does give you a rough idea of the sound your rattle will make.
The full rattle measures approx 28cm including the tassels and the rattle head measures approx 7cm in diameter.
This is an ideal instrument for raising energy during ceremony, shamanic work or as a percussion instrument.
All our Navajo products are authentic items purchased from a local business trading on Navajo Nation land in New Mexico.
